NY's Best Corporate Framing & Art Restoration Shop

For more than 100 years, New York’s best corporate framing and art restoration shop has been Heritage Frame & Picture, a 4th generation custom art framing business founded in 1878 under the name New York Frame & Picture Co. Corporate custom art, mirror and picture frames are specific for commercial establishments and residential buildings.

Billiard_Room Setting C.jpg

Corporate framing is also known as industrial framing and commercial framing. This includes residential complexes, banks, law firms, restaurants, hotels, museums, art galleries, government offices, schools, universities sports arenas, public spaces, casinos, religious institutions, and not for profits.

Unlike custom frames for private residences, corporate framing often incorporates working with event planners, interior designers or building managers. Heritage Frame understands what is required for these environments in terms of coordinating work schedules, working with teams, anchoring art to walls to prevent accidents or theft and ensuring the proper quality of the frame, matting, and installation hardware is utilized.

When framing art, memorabilia, posters, mirrors or pictures for an art collector or a family, the client is given the same attention as our corporate framing clients. The difference usually amounts to the volume of work being framed, the necessity to use a varied amount of frames due to the environment the art will be installed as well as the artwork contained within.

Cortona-Chateau_Room Setting.jpg

Most framing shops do not have the experience or expertise to work with commercial/ industrial picture framing clients. The corporate environment can lend itself to working long hours, often many after hours and weekends as well as often having to restore damaged, stained or ripped art in their collection. Heritage Frame’s primary clients are corporate and we work nationwide with many of our clients by installing artwork throughout their offices in and outside of New York. We also travel for art restoration work and to frame and install art for events, and for corporate gift giving.

We have an extensive list of referrals and client list. We have also been featured in the news and received awards for our accomplishments and success in art framing and art restoration.

If you are a looking for an experienced, professional and enjoyable custom framing company to work with, please call Heritage Frame &  Picture Co. We are not the low price leader. We are the leader in high-quality frames, customer service, and experience.

Yes, we do give free estimates on art restoration custom and corporate art, picture, and mirror frames and art installation. Please call (212)233-3205 or (914)332-5200.

Framebridge vs Heritage Frame

Heritage Frame & Picture Co. founded in 1878 in lower Manhattan as New York Frame & Picture Co, is one of the oldest, experienced and respected art, mirror and picture framing shops in New York.

Heritage Frame is also one of the leading corporate framing and art restoration businesses. As a result, it is common for people searching to have their pictures and art framed to compare Heritage Frame to many of the new companies in existence. One of the art framing companies in question is Framebridge.

Framebridge is a new start-up online framing company founded by Susan Tynan. Her entry into the picture framing business a few years ago is as a result of her purchasing artwork on a trip and need to transport it home without the frame it came with. According to her story on her website, she was then inspired to offer low-cost picture frames to people who want to frame their art or photos.

While a great story of entrepreneurship and we are happy to see Framebridge enter the market, our business model and clients are different. Heritage Frame offers high-end quality art and picture frames whereas Framebridge sells to mass markets similar to Walmart and Target but with the added benefits of having someone frame your artwork and ship it back to you.

Chambord_Room Setting C.jpg

Most of Heritage Frames clients are art collectors, corporate framing clients, interior designers, hotels, resorts, timeshares, airports, law firms, banks, commercial and residential buildings, museums and art galleries. Our custom art, mirror, and picture frames are designed to last a lifetime and to enhance the value of the artwork. In addition, we install art in your home, office, or at your corporate event.

Our custom art framers are skilled artisans who work with you to select the frame you desire and help you choose the proper matting and installation hardware. Heritage Frame is known for excellent customer service and for our large assortment of superb quality art frames. We are not a mass market photo framing company. Our business is built on one-on-one service.

In addition to corporate and commercial art and picture framing, Heritage Frame is one of the few highly experienced art restoration companies. Art restoration requires a depth of knowledge and expertise that takes years to develop. We have restored artwork damaged in floods, fire, mold, mildew, as well as artwork that has been torn. Some of our art restoration work comes from other custom art framing shops who trust us to remedy the problem.

Devon_Room Setting B.jpg

Another source of our custom picture framing work is from corporate event planners. We work with event planners to install art in places where there will be an abundance of traffic and safety is an issue. Another concern is to have the art installed so it is protected from either theft, falling or damage. We work with event planners at grand openings, award ceremonies, anniversaries, historic displays and for conferences.

Heritage Frame welcomes you to visit our framing shop. You can also call for an appointment.

If you are looking to have your art, pictures, mirrors, memorabilia, posters, or antiques custom framed, call Heritage Frame & Picture Co. We give free estimates on custom framing, art restoration, and art installation. We pick-up and ship everywhere. Please call Heritage Frame at (212)233-3205 or (914)332-5200.

We are known for our excellent customer service and an enormous assortment of frames, matting and installation hardware.

How interior designers beautify spaces with art and pictures

#1 Interior Designers Organize Art To Tell A Specific Story

How you display your pictures and art is critical to the telling of your story. Custom framing by Heritage Frame is carefully selected to create the best display. These custom framed art works are installed together. Pictures allow you to see loved ones and revisit places and relive those memories.

Custom picture framing allows you to display your photographs instead of keeping them hidden away on your phone, computer and tablets. These pictures, when custom framed properly, along with your paintings enhance your rooms and the entire interior design of your home.

#2 Picture Framing As Part Of Interior Design

Placing a photograph, painting or work of graphic art inside a custom frame adds the final touch that gives the art work a professional, sophisticated look. Compared to custom picture framing, store bought photo frames does not have the same effect of value as custom framing.

With professional, custom framing by Heritage Frame & Picture Co., your treasured photographs and artwork become part of your interior design. They can serve as the starting point for beautifying an entire room or provide the ambience needed to give your home the pizzazz your space was lacking.

#3 Custom Framed Art Work Conveys Your Message

Great interior design creates a theme, gives ambiance and/or conveys a message about your home and your personal tastes. Custom picture framing helps interior design by enhancing a space and giving it character and personality.

When you install custom framed family photos and portraits along a hallway, tables and rooms, this conveys the message that you love and value family. Installing custom framed artwork over your fireplace, on an accent wall and in bedrooms and living rooms, exposes your appreciation for beauty and creativity.

Custom framed artwork beautifies any space by transforming it into a private art gallery where you share with loved ones. The colors of the art add depth to the room and can help illuminate the color, texture or theme of the interior design.

#4 Beautify Plain Walls and Rooms

Choosing the right paint color for a wall can be confusing and time-consuming. You desire more than a blank wall but know that it takes the right color to combine the fell of the room with the rooms intended purpose.

Custom framed art work and pictures are often the solution to plain walls and unimpressive rooms.

When you find the right photographs or artwork to frame and install, you no longer feel beholden to paint colors and instead allow the custom framing to provide the ambience.

Instead or struggling with colors, you can use the wall as the ideal blank canvas. Filling that plain wall with custom framed art, is the secret of interior designers.

Installing photographs and artwork give the room and your home the assortment of stories and visual theatre that enhances and beautifies your life.

#5 Custom Framing To Embrace Your Furniture

An interesting fact about Piermont is that it is the only place you can witness this amazing piece of history. In fact, it could be a major reason to add it to a list of must see places in New York. The Piermont hand-cranked drawbridge.

Piermont hand-cranked drawbridge (1994)

Piermont hand-cranked drawbridge (1994)

The Piermont hand-cranked drawbridge, also known as the Sparkill Creek Drawbridge, was originally built in 1880 by the King Iron Bridge Company from Cleveland, Ohio, that constructed more than 10,000 bridges over six decades.

The hand-cranked drawbridge is used as a pedestrian walkway providing a link to Tallman Mountain State Park. This bridge is the only hand-cranked drawbridge in Rockland County and perhaps in the United States. Back in the day, fishermen on sloops heading up and down the creek got out of their vessel, cranked up the drawbridge, sailed across, got out of their vessel and cranked down the drawbridge for vehicular traffic. The whole bridge was dismantled piece by piece, sent off-site for restoration and restored to its original state after a complete forensic analysis.

The bridge itself is worth taking a photo of and framing. In addition, it would make an excellent book with an opportunity to add mid century photography.

Now that you have your photos and pictures custom framed by Heritage Frame, you may want to create a photo gallery wall.

Photo gallery walls are popular because it allows you to maximize wall space in your home, office or building. In addition, when the photos are hung properly, the framed works create another set of artwork within their design on the wall. Photo galleries are also a way to mix different picture frames together. You can mix antique frames with modern frames, metal frames and gold frames with various shapes and sizes.

The best way to create a photo wall gallery is to allow your creativity to flow. Mix different color frames together and shapes. One of the important things to keep the wall in balance is to space the frames evenly apart. Also place frames at eye level with some picture frames slightly higher and some photo frames lower.

You can make the wall a gallery of family portraits, a wall displaying vacations, special events or various products as well as books, antiques, letters, cards, posters, menus, food or whatever excites you.

We have installed art and photo galleries in art galleries, homes, restaurants, schools, law firms, banks, entertainment companies, sport teams and stadiums, plus many other residential and commercial venues.

Hartsdale, a CDP/hamlet/post-office in the town of Greenburgh, New York, lies on the Bronx River just 20 miles (32 km) north ofNew York City. It is served by the Metro-North Harlem River commuter rail line into Grand Central Terminal. Hartsdale is the home of America's first canine pet cemetery (started by veterinarian Samuel Johnson in 1896), and the world's first Carvel Ice Cream store (1934), which closed in 2008.[1]

Hartsdale's earliest settlers were the Weekquaeskeeks (sometimes spelled Weekquasgeeks), a sub-tribe of the Algonquian tribe that lived in most of southern New York, from Westchester down through Manhattan. Weekquaeskeek is an Algonquian term believed to mean "place of the bark kettle", and this kettle appears in the Greenburgh town seal today.

After the earliest British colonialists arrived, the area was developed under the manor system when Frederick Philipse, a Dutch merchant and British Loyalist, was "given" the land by the British government. As lord of his Philipse Manor, he leased his land to tenant farmers who, at least for a time, were believed to have lived alongside their Native American neighbors.

There is evidence to show that Hartsdale played a significant role during the Revolutionary War, some of which still stands today. On October 28, 1776, a Revolutionary War battle was fought alongside the Bronx River, near the site of the current Hartsdale train station. The Odell House (on Ridge Road, built in 1732) served as the headquarters for the French general the Comte de Rochambeau, and is where the count and George Washington are supposed to have formed an alliance leading to the Battle of Yorktown. The house was later named after John Odell, Washington's guide who bought the house in 1785. In 1965, his descendants deeded the house to the Sons of the American Revolution, and today the house is in severe decay, awaiting funds to transform it into a museum.

After the Continental Army and American colonialists won the Revolutionary War, Frederick Philipse III (third lord of the manor and great-grandson to Frederick Philipse I) fled, his land was confiscated and sold to the remaining farming tenants, many of whom were descendants of the Hart family. The intersection of Central Park Avenue and Hartsdale Avenue was named "Hart's Corners" after Robert Hart, one of these farmers who successfully bid for the land, and in the mid-19th century the entire area became known as "Hartsdale".

The area remained largely agrarian until 1865, when Eleazar Hart deeded land for the development of the New York and Harlem Railroad line into Manhattan, setting the stage for Hartsdale to change into a more cosmopolitan commuter village. Between 1880 and 1940, large tracts of farmland and estates were subdivided and converted into private houses and apartments at a furious pace. By the 1960s, almost no remaining farmland was left for sale.

In 1904, the successful German-Jewish banker Felix M. Warburg (1871–1937) purchased large tracts of land to build his 500-acre (2.0 km2) "Woodlands" estate in Hartsdale, a summer home next to the country club where he and his wife Frieda Schiff Warburg (1876–1958) spent considerable time. The estate would later become an important site in the history of modern American ballet, when on June 10, 1934, their son Edward M. M. Warburg (1908–1992) helped produce the first American performance of George Balanchine's masterpiece "Serenade". In keeping with the family's philanthropic efforts, Frieda Schiff Warburg, on her death in 1958, bequeathed a remaining 150 acres (0.61 km2) to the town of Greenburgh to build a public school. These 150 acres (0.61 km2) are now the home of the Greenburgh Central School District (formerly called Greenburgh Central 7 School District) and Woodlands High School. The main Warburg mansion currently serves as the school district headquarters, but other remnants from the original estate grounds can still be seen standing in the surrounding woods and neighboring streets. The Warburg family's New York City home would later be donated to become the Jewish Museum of New York.

On February 9, 1928, Hartsdale made history when the Scottish inventor John Logie Baird (1888–1946) transmitted the world's first inter-continental short-wave television signal from a transmitter (call sign 2KZ) in Coulsdon, Surrey (a suburb of London) to his colleague O. G. Hutchinson in the cellar of Robert M. Hart, an amateur radio operator (call sign 2CVJ) in Hartsdale.[5]

In 1932, Henry Jacques Gaisman, inventor and founder of the Gillette safety razor blade, purchased 136 acres (0.55 km2) of land along Ridge Road, most of which he purchased from George A. C. Christiancy, son of the former U.S. minister to PeruIsaac Peckham Christiancy. In 1952, at age 82, Gaisman married his nurse Catherine "Kitty" Vance Gaisman, aged 33, a former Catholic nun. In 1957, he and his wife Catherine (Mrs. Henry J. Gaisman) passed the title for his land to the New York Archdiocese for $600,000, with the agreement that they could live there as long as they wished. Mr. Gaisman died in 1974 at age 104, and Mrs. Gaisman remained on the estate until she moved to Connecticut in 1995. In 1999, the estate was saved from sale and development when the Town of Greenburgh acquired the property and reopened it as the Hart's Brook Nature Preserve. Part of the agreement included the preservation of some portion of the estate as a home for retired Catholic nuns. Today the Catherine and Henry J. Gaisman Foundation continues to donate large amounts of money to support medical research.
